Disputas Territoriales y su Perdurabilidad: una aproximación al Concepto de Atrincheramiento Territorial y sus implicancias en la Cuestión Malvinas

Resumen: Este artículo se propone analizar el diferendo de soberanía entre la República Argentina y el Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte sobre las islas Malvinas, Georgias y Sandwich del Sur y los espacios marítimos circundantes, como un caso de Disputa Territorial Prolongada.
En este sentido se presentan los postulados de una investigación en curso que testea si el caso de Malvinas puede considerarse significativo como parte de una tendencia a la irresolubilidad de los conflictos territoriales de larga data que han desembocado en un estado de estancamiento en el siglo XXI, debido a la imposibilidad de avanzar en negociaciones respecto de la soberanía. A fin de realizar este análisis se buscará introducir un concepto novedoso para la corriente de estudios de los conflictos internacionales que se denomina Atrincheramiento Territorial.

Title: Territorial Disputes and their Durability: an approach to the Concept of Territorial Entrenchment and its implications in the Malvinas Question
Abstract: This article aims to analyze the sovereignty dispute between the Argentine Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland over the Malvinas, Georgia and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime spaces as a case of Prolonged Territorial Dispute.
In this sense, the postulates of an ongoing research are presented that tests whether the Malvinas case can be considered significant as part of a trend towards the irresolubility of long-standing territorial conflicts that have led to a state of stagnation in the 21st century, due to the impossibility of advancing in negotiations regarding sovereignty. In order to carry out this analysis, we will seek to introduce a new concept for the trend of studies of international conflicts that is called Territorial Entrenchment.
